We don’t just create tours—we build expeditions.
Every journey starts long before the first vehicle leaves home. We spend countless hours researching routes, checking border crossings, scouting campsites, building GPS navigation, planning logistics, and refining every detail. Every expedition is numbered because every journey teaches us something. We learn, adapt, improve, and share those lessons with our travellers and the wider overlanding community.
Our groups are intentionally limited to a maximum of 12 vehicles, creating a convoy that is large enough to support one another but small enough to remain connected. We travel as one team, looking out for each other from departure to the final farewell.
Overlanding is unpredictable. Roads change. Borders take longer than expected. Vehicles break. Weather forces new decisions. That’s part of the adventure.
When challenges arise, we face them together.
Whether it’s GPS navigation, radio communication, vehicle recovery, mechanical assistance, maintenance, medical support or simply lending a helping hand, everyone contributes. We believe in teamwork, shared responsibility and supporting one another. We don’t leave people behind—we do everything reasonably possible to get everyone safely through the journey.
Around camp, everyone is welcome to enjoy the experience in their own way. Some evenings people cook at their own campsite, while others gather around the community fire. But when it’s time to travel, we move together, make decisions together, and work together to complete the expedition. Overlanding isn’t about luxury. It’s about discovering places you’ve never seen, meeting people you’ll never forget, embracing cultures, learning new skills, adapting to change, and finding confidence in the unexpected.

We believe Africa should be experienced, not rushed.
Every expedition is carefully researched and planned, but Africa has a way of changing the itinerary. A washed-out road, a delayed border crossing or an unexpected wildlife encounter often becomes the highlight of the journey. We prepare thoroughly, stay flexible and embrace the unexpected. Overlanding isn’t about getting from A to B. It’s about learning to travel well.
We believe in travelling responsibly, respecting the countries we visit, being self-sufficient and leaving every place as we found it. Along the way, we learn new skills, gain confidence and discover more about ourselves.

Every Waypoint trip is led by accredited, registered guides who live this life rather than just lead tours through it. Qualified through CATHSSETA, TETA, and the Department of Tourism, with wilderness first-aid training and years of personal overlanding behind every route. Ask any of us for our credentials anytime.
